Meet your committee

Chairman: Gill Jolly

As Chairman, Gill is responsible for chairing all committee meetings and as a point of contact for all correspondence. Gill is also responsible for organising concert venues.

Living in the heart of the South Hams in Modbury, Gill plays the clarinet, along with recorders and handbells. She has been a constant member of the orchestra since the early days when there were just six friends meeting at the home of Barbara Wintersgill, the orchestra’s founder.

Musical Director

Ian Hiscock

Responsible for the orchestra’s music. Ian’s objective is to select music that constantly stretches the players’ ability.

Social Secretary

Sue darling

Responsible for organising all social events, concerts, cards/flowers/gifts and refreshments.

Responsible for managing the orchestra’s finances including collecting subscriptions, paying all invoices and reporting Accounts to Committee.

Minutes Secretary

Sarah Owen

Responsible for preparing the agendas and recording any minutes arising from all committee meetings. Sarah is the second signatory for the bank account.

Responsible for public facing materials including PR, the shco.co.uk web site and any activities to promote concert awareness.
